Noire is VNV Nation at their darkest and most cinematic. The band's tenth studio album was recorded at the Anachron studio in Hamburg in 2018 with Ronan Harris writing and producing, and it reached number four on the German albums chart.

Lead single "When Is The Future?" turned into a major hit for the band and came with their first ever official music video, filmed in Tokyo. Elsewhere, "Nocturne No.7" features piano from Szymon Jakubowski, "Collide" went on to become the theme for the 2023 video game Firmament, and closer "All Our Sins" builds to an orchestral finish. Across thirteen tracks and more than seventy minutes, Harris leads the listener through some very dark places without ever losing the melodic hooks that made VNV Nation a futurepop institution.

Critics singled out Harris's vocals as some of the best of his career, and the album is an easy recommendation for anyone drawn to the band's moodier side.

This limited second North American pressing comes on Black Ice vinyl in a gatefold sleeve with black inner sleeves, quarter-fold liner notes, and a digital download card.
