Originally released in 1982, Mechanix marked a pivotal chapter in UFO's story, capturing the band as they moved into a new era. Often overshadowed by their late-1970s classics, it has since been reappraised by fans as a powerful and underrated entry in the catalog.
Driving tracks like "The Writer" and "Doing It All for You" show Phil Mogg and company in fine, muscular form, while "We Belong to the Night" and "Let It Rain" became fan favorites and the atmospheric closer "Feel It" shows a more expansive side of the band.
This definitive reissue has been newly remastered at AIR Mastering and comes with previously unreleased photographs and new liner notes by David Hann, drawing on exclusive interviews with Phil Mogg, Andy Parker and Neil Carter. The highlight is a newly mixed live recording from London's Hammersmith Odeon on January 28, 1982, restored by producer Brian Kehew and capturing the band on the eve of the album's release.
This deluxe edition presents the remastered album and the full Hammersmith show across three LPs.
