Twenty One Pilots have spent a decade turning a two-man setup into something that fills stadiums, and this record is the proof. Recorded at Estadio GNP Seguros on The Clancy World Tour, it documents a headline show in front of 65,000 people in a city that has a reputation for out-singing whoever is on stage. That reputation holds up here.
The twenty-one song set pulls from across the catalogue. "Overcompensate" opens it, the way it opens the show. "Car Radio," "Heathens," "Ride" and "Stressed Out" cover the run of years that made the band arena-sized in the first place, while "Jumpsuit" and "Paladin Strait" carry the Clancy material. It closes, as it always does, on "Trees." What comes through across all of it is the sound of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun being sung over by an entire stadium, which is less a technical detail than the whole point of the record.
Live albums are usually souvenirs. This one works better than that because the scale and the intimacy are both audible at once: a band playing to tens of thousands and still sounding like the same two people who used to do this in basements in Columbus.
This edition presents the full set across four sides of red colored vinyl, housed in a gatefold jacket. Limited pressing on Fueled By Ramen / Elektra.
