The Dead Milkmen - Eat Your Paisley! (40th Anniversary) (LP / Blue Crayon Vinyl)
Ever wondered what a satirical grenade lobbed at the Summer of Love crowd would sound like? Originally released in 1986 on Restless Records, Eat Your Paisley! is The Dead Milkmen's sophomore album, a wiseass, ragged punk record that mocks pretty much anything the adult world held sacred.
The songs pair sharp, absurd lyrics with deliberately rough rock and roll, a pointed rejection of the slick synth-pop dominating the airwaves at the time. It's funny, smart and still very much the band's own thing.
This 40th anniversary collector's edition was remastered at half speed by Phil Nicolo from the original 1/4" tapes. It features reimagined cover art and a deluxe gatefold with archival photos and original sketches, pressed on Blue Crayon (opaque turquoise) vinyl with a double-sided lyric sheet and poster insert. Ten percent of label profits go to the Rock to the Future charity.
