Shooting Daggers are fast becoming a fiery beacon at the center of the UK’s rapidly growing hardcore scene. Their full-throttle live shows have made them a must-see, whether tearing through Desertfest, supporting Amyl & The Sniffers, or playing a string of underground gigs and festivals across the UK and Europe, including Fluff Fest and Burn It Down.
They’ve also shared stages with some of the most exciting names in American hardcore—Scowl, Gel, Zulu, and Spaced—and were personally invited to perform at Cult of Luna’s curated Beyond The Redshift. With demand only growing, it’s a wonder they’ve found time for anything else.
Thankfully, they carved out a week to enter Bear Bites Horse Studio in London with producer Wayne Adams to record their debut album, Love and Rage. The result is a huge leap forward from their earlier EP—a blistering, fully realized statement that positions the band at the forefront of modern hardcore.
Call it a potential classic if you want. The kind of record that invites comparisons to genre-defining debuts like Ramones, Damned Damned Damned, Los Angeles, Bad Brains, Repeater, Pussy Whipped, or even Nonstop Feeling by Turnstile. (And yes, we’re aware how male that list is.)
However you frame it, Love and Rage delivers jaw-dropping depth and melody alongside relentless energy and raw emotion—a debut that hits hard and lingers long after the noise fades.
