A long time coming. Originally released in 1995 as a way of tidying up loose ends following Screeching Weasel's 1994 breakup, Kill The Musicians collected the demos, b-sides, vinyl-only EPs, live recordings, and various odds and ends the band had accumulated from 1989 to 1994. It became one of the most beloved entries in their catalog, and an essential document for anyone serious about the band's history. A vinyl edition has been a long time coming — a double LP pressing was planned by Recess Records back in 2010 but made it only as far as the test pressing stage before the project was abandoned.
Now, finally, here it is. Spread across two separate volumes, Vol. 2 collects the second half of this treasure trove, including Ramones covers, live recordings, fan favorites like "Mary Was an Anarchist," "Hey Suburbia," and "Six A.M.," and a run of tracks pulled from some of the most obscure corners of the Screeching Weasel back catalog. For the devoted, it is the missing piece. For the curious, it is a perfect deep dive into one of punk's most enduring and distinctive voices.
Limited to just 500 copies on black vinyl, this one will not last.
