Sam Barber was a college student in Missouri posting covers online when "Straight and Narrow" took off and rearranged his life. Restless Mind, his debut album, is the sound of a young songwriter with a gravel-and-honey voice making good on all of it.

Twenty-eight songs across ninety minutes is an audacious way to introduce yourself, and Barber fills the space with rough-edged country soul. "Thought of You," "Indigo," "Jersey Giant," and "S.O.B." all landed as singles, and there are duets with Avery Anna and Lily Fitts along the way.
