Rabbits & Carrots - Soul Latino (Expanded Edition) (2LP)
Released in 1969 on Discos Musart, Soul Latino is a rare gem of Mexican funk and the only album from Rabbits & Carrots, the Mexico City band of brothers Salvador, Félix, José Luis and Roberto Agüeros Patiño. Today it's regarded as an important piece of Mexican funk history.
The record blends Latin rhythms, jazz, soul and funk through instrumental takes on Jorge Ben's "País Tropical," Rufus Thomas' "Funky Chicken," Sly & The Family Stone's "Everyday People" and Kool & The Gang's "Los Pelos Tiesos." Heavy drums, sharp guitar and deep grooves make it a crate-digger favorite.
This RSD Black Friday exclusive is the first vinyl reissue since the original pressing more than five decades ago. Remastered from the original master tapes, the expanded 2LP edition adds eight previously non-album tracks and comes in a gatefold jacket.
