Before Stick Season made him one of the biggest songwriters in the world, Noah Kahan was a young Vermonter working through anxiety, small-town restlessness and early heartbreak on his debut album. Released in 2019 on Republic, Busyhead is where the voice and the self-deprecating honesty that fans now know so well first came into focus.
The songs lean more toward polished pop than the folk-heavy sound that followed, but the writing is unmistakably his. "Hurt Somebody," a duet with Julia Michaels, became his first real breakout, and "Mess," "Young Blood" and "False Confidence" pair big, singalong choruses with lyrics that are funny and painfully candid in the same breath. The title track and "Carlo's Song" show the quieter, more acoustic side that would come to define him.
The album topped Billboard's Heatseekers chart on release, and in the years since it has become required listening for fans tracing his path from bedroom songwriter to arena headliner.
This edition presents the ten-track album on a single LP.
