Released in 1989, Dr. Feelgood is Mötley Crüe's fifth studio album and their commercial peak, becoming the band's only album to top the Billboard 200. Produced by Bob Rock, it marked a more polished, hard-hitting sound than their earlier glam metal records, anchored by the title track and the power ballad "Without You." The album spawned five hit singles, including "Kickstart My Heart," "Same Ol' Situation (S.O.S.)," and "Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)," and remains regarded as the band's finest hour in the studio.
