Michael Jackson - Thriller 25th Anniversary Edition

Some records need no introduction, and Thriller is one of them. Released in 1982 and produced by Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones, it became the best-selling album of all time, an estimated 67 million copies sold worldwide, and remains the album against which every blockbuster pop record since has been measured. Seven singles came off it, including the back-to-back number-one hits "Billie Jean" and "Beat It," alongside "Thriller," "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'," "Human Nature," "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)," and "The Girl Is Mine." At the 1984 Grammys, Jackson took home eight awards in a single night, including Album of the Year, a record that stood alone for over fifteen years.

This 25th anniversary edition, released in 2008, gives the album its most substantial reissue treatment, adding eight bonus tracks, five of them never before released. Among the new additions is "For All Time," a previously unheard recording from the original Thriller sessions, newly mixed and mastered by Jackson himself. The set also includes fresh remixes from Kanye West, Akon, and will.i.am, putting a contemporary spin on some of the album's biggest moments while keeping the original tracklist fully intact.
