Meghan Trainor - A Very Trainor Christmas [Red & Green]

Meghan Trainor built her career on retro-pop sweetness, so a Christmas album suited her perfectly. Released in 2020, A Very Trainor Christmas mixes doo-wop harmonies, Motown bounce and modern pop sheen, and it plays like a family holiday party with the volume turned up.

Trainor wrote a strong batch of originals for the record. "My Kind of Present" opens with a burst of girl-group charm, "Holidays" teams her with Earth, Wind & Fire for a funky, horn-driven celebration, and "Christmas Got Me Blue," "Naughty List" and "Christmas Party" keep the energy high. Between them she tackles the standards with her trademark polish: "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas," "Last Christmas," "Sleigh Ride," "Winter Wonderland" and "The Christmas Song" all get bright, harmony-stacked arrangements, and "Silent Night" brings it home gently.

It is cheerful, generous and unashamedly festive, a modern pop Christmas record made with real affection for the classics.

This Epic edition spreads sixteen tracks across two 140-gram LPs, one on translucent red vinyl and one on translucent green.
