Kyuss - Blues for the Red Sun

Released in 1992, Blues for the Red Sun is the second studio album from Kyuss and the record widely credited with defining the sound of stoner rock. Produced by Chris Goss, its down-tuned, bass-heavy guitars — famously run through a bass amp for that molten, earth-shaking tone — created a template that generations of desert and doom bands would follow.

Anchored by classics like "Green Machine," "Thumb," and "Thong Song," the album channels the vast, sun-baked expanse of the California desert into hypnotic grooves and crushing riffs. Featuring Josh Homme, John Garcia, Brant Bjork, and Nick Oliveri, it's a foundational document of an entire genre.
