Kraftwerk's 1974 album Autobahn is described as a groundbreaking record that combines prog rock and analog electronics to create a new sound. The album's title track is intended to capture the experience of driving on the autobahn, including the landscape, high-speed driving, and the monotony of a long trip. The band used synthesizers to mimic real-world sounds like wind, passing cars, and rain, along with other instruments like violin, flute, piano, and guitar.
