Khruangbin & Leon Bridges - Texas Sun

Texas is a state of vast distances and varied landscapes—from the limestone cliffs and granite mountains to pine forests, sprawling deserts, and endless grasslands. It’s under this wide-open sky that R&B sensation Leon Bridges and psychedelic groove masters Khruangbin found the inspiration for their collaborative EP, Texas Sun.

Born of the long drive between Bridges’ hometown of Fort Worth and Khruangbin’s base in Houston, Texas Sun captures the feeling of traveling through the state itself: expansive, dreamy, and infused with a sense of place that stretches as far as the horizon. Khruangbin bassist Laura Lee describes it best: “Big sky country, that’s what they call Texas. The horizon line goes all the way from one side to another without interruption. There’s something really comforting about that.”

Blending soulful R&B, languid psychedelic grooves, and hints of Texas’ diverse musical heritage—from boot-scooting country at Billy Bob’s to chopped-and-screwed Houston hip-hop—Texas Sun is a sonic crossroads.
