Kelly Clarkson - When Christmas Comes Around...

Kelly Clarkson has become one of pop's most dependable Christmas voices, and When Christmas Comes Around..., her second full-length holiday album, shows why. Released in 2021, it splits the difference between the big, brassy holiday pop she does better than almost anyone and a more reflective streak that gives the record real emotional weight.

The originals are the draw. "Christmas Isn't Canceled (Just You)" is a sharp, swaggering kiss-off, "Merry Christmas (To the One I Used to Know)" is its bittersweet mirror image, and "Blessed" lands somewhere between the two. Clarkson also brings in friends: Chris Stapleton joins her on the slow-burning "Glow," Ariana Grande trades runs on "Santa, Can't You Hear Me," and Brett Eldredge turns up for "Under the Mistletoe." Standards like "Merry Christmas Baby," "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" and "Last Christmas" round it out with plenty of horn-section sparkle.

It is a holiday record with a pulse, built around one of the strongest voices in modern pop.

This Atlantic LP presents the fifteen-track album on black vinyl.
