Jason Falkner - Presents Author Unknown [RSD Black Friday 2026]

Jason Falkner - Presents Author Unknown (2LP / Opaque Red & Green Vinyl)

Jason Falkner is a musician's musician. A classically trained piano prodigy, he came up through the Paisley Underground with The Three O'Clock, joined power-pop legends Jellyfish, formed The Grays with Jon Brion, and has been sought out by Beck, Paul McCartney, Aimee Mann, St. Vincent, Air and many more.

His true calling, though, was his solo work. Released on Elektra in 1996, Presents Author Unknown was written, produced and performed by Falkner himself, a showcase of sophisticated songwriting, inventive arrangements and flawless musicianship that remains a touchstone for power-pop fans.

For the 30th anniversary, Falkner returned to the original multitrack tapes to create an all-new remix with more depth, punch and detail. Making its vinyl debut, this 2LP set adds four bonus tracks on Side 4: the outtake "My Home Is Not A House" and three 4-track demos. Pressed on opaque red and green vinyl with extensive new liner notes from Falkner, for RSD Black Friday.
