George Strait - Merry Christmas Strait To You [Red]

Released in 1986, Merry Christmas Strait to You was George Strait's first holiday album, and it has been a fixture of Christmas in country households ever since. It pairs his smooth, traditional country sound with a mix of seasonal standards and country holiday originals.

Produced by Jimmy Bowen and Strait himself, the record finds him easing into favorites like "White Christmas," "Winter Wonderland," "Away in a Manger" and "Frosty the Snowman" with the same unhurried warmth he brings to a honky-tonk ballad. The originals are the real treat for Texans: "When It's Christmas Time in Texas" and the title track sound like nobody else, and "There's a New Kid in Town" remains one of the great country Christmas songs.

The album has become a perennial in Strait's catalog and went on to be certified double platinum, proof of how many families pull it out every December.

This edition is pressed on festive red vinyl, just in time for the season.
