Fluke went quiet for the better part of two decades. The Second Bite, released June 2026 on their own Surface Records, is the return, and it plays like the British electronic underground never stopped being interesting.

Jon Fugler and Mike Tournier have always operated in the space between progressive house, breakbeat, and big beat, and this record covers all of it without sounding retro. "Bullet" runs past nine minutes and takes its time getting where it is going. "Slid" and "Electric Guitar" work the long build the way Fluke did on Risotto, all rising filters and patient drum programming. "Groovy Feeling" and "Freak" bring the swagger, "The Bells" and "Life Support" close the record in a lower, hazier register. Leah Cleaver adds additional vocals, and the whole thing was mixed by Michael Rendall and mastered by Tim Debney at Fluid Mastering.

Twelve tracks across four sides, cut at Calyx by Norman Nitzsche. For anyone who wore out Oto or Puppy in the nineties, this is the sequel that actually arrived.

This limited edition 2LP comes with artwork and typography by The Designers Republic, the studio responsible for Fluke's visual identity from the start. A proper package for a long overdue record.
