Cyndi Lauper - True Colors [Expanded Edition]

Cyndi Lauper's second album had a lot to live up to after the explosive success of She's So Unusual, and True Colors answered by showing just how much range she had. Forty years on, its title track remains one of the most beloved ballads of the 1980s.

"True Colors" is a hushed, aching performance that became an anthem of acceptance, while "Change of Heart" rocks with a big new wave punch. Lauper's take on "Iko Iko" and Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On" show off her playful and soulful sides, and songs like "Boy Blue" and "911" round out a record that moves easily between joyful pop and real emotional weight.

This expanded edition adds the previously unreleased track "The River Cried" and a selection of live recordings from her iconic 1987 concert at Le Zénith in Paris, including "Goonies 'R' Good Enough," along with rare photos from the original album photo shoot.

Celebrating the album's 40th anniversary, it is pressed on two LPs of Rainbow Sprinkle vinyl.
