Marking their first release in nearly ten years, Andreas EP is both a heartfelt tribute and a meaningful new chapter for Swedish electronic pioneers Covenant. Created in memory of band member Andreas Catjar-Danielsson, who passed away in July 2024 after a battle with cancer, the EP stands as a celebration of friendship, creativity, and lasting legacy.
Featuring five experimental tracks, the release blends Covenant’s signature electronic sound with a more reflective and exploratory tone. Included are two striking cover versions: Yazoo’s “Winter Kills” and Lee Hazlewood’s “A Rider on a White Horse,” both reinterpreted with the band’s distinctive atmospheric style.
Beyond the music, Andreas EP carries a deeper purpose. All proceeds from the release will go directly to Andreas’ widow and their two children, making this not only a tribute but a tangible act of support.
Formed in Helsingborg, Sweden in 1988, Covenant have long stood at the forefront of electronic music, continuously evolving their sound while maintaining a strong emotional core. With Andreas EP, they honor their past while offering something deeply personal and resonant for fans old and new.
