More than three decades after they started playing basements in New Brunswick, the Bouncing Souls are still writing songs about sticking together. Born To Be, their latest full-length, doubles down on the idea that has always powered the band: community is the answer, especially when everything feels divided.

Producer Will Yip gives the record a bright, punchy finish without sanding off the Jersey grit. "The Light" and "Bordertown" kick things off at full sprint, "Lighthouse" and "Only Echoes" dig into grief and forgiveness, and "Asshole Friends" is exactly the kind of raucous singalong the band's live shows are built on. The centerpiece is "United," an anthem about staying connected through trauma that feels destined to close out sets for years.
