The debut that started everything. Released on August 19, 2016 through Sumerian Records, Bad Omens' self-titled first album introduced the world to one of the most compelling new voices in modern metal, and the music world has not stopped paying attention since.
Formed in Richmond, Virginia in 2015 by vocalist and producer Noah Sebastian alongside guitarist Joakim Karlsson, bassist Nick Ruffilo, and drummer Nick Folio, Bad Omens arrived fully formed with ghostly atmospherics, striking hooks, and cinematic production that set them apart from their peers from the very first listen. Recorded in Belleville, New Jersey with producer Will Putney at Graphic Nature Audio, the album draws on themes of despair, mental health, and addiction with a directness and emotional honesty that connected immediately with listeners. Singles "Glass Houses," "Exit Wounds," and "The Worst In Me" built momentum track by track, with the latter racking up nearly one million streams in its first month alone.
Metal Injection rated the album an 8.5 out of 10 on release, and the record quickly earned the band a spot on the Sumerian Records tenth anniversary tour alongside Asking Alexandria and a slot on Warped Tour the following year. It was the beginning of a remarkable rise for one of the most exciting bands in heavy music today.
Now available on red vinyl, this is the definitive way to own the record that launched it all.
