Before she made a record of her own, Audrey Hobert was a staff writer on a Nickelodeon sitcom who had only just started writing songs, mostly with her best friend since fifth grade, Gracie Abrams. One of those songs was "That's So True." A year later Hobert stepped out front with Who's the Clown?, a debut that sounds like nobody else in pop because it is written like a comedy script and sung like a diary.
Every track was produced by Ricky Gourmet, who keeps the arrangements bright and uncluttered so the words can do the work. Lead single "Sue Me" is the breakout, a rush of oversharing set to a chorus built for shouting in the car, and "Bowling Alley," "Wet Hair" and "Thirst Trap" follow the same instinct: hyper-specific details, conversational verses, and punchlines that land a beat before the hook does. "Sex and the City" and closer "Silver Jubilee" show there is real feeling under the jokes.
Released by RCA in August 2025, the album charted on both sides of the Atlantic and earned a nomination for Favorite Debut Album at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards. Critics praised Hobert's storytelling and comic timing and welcomed her as one of pop's sharpest new voices.
This standard edition presents all twelve tracks on black vinyl and includes a poster with the lyrics printed on the back. Contains explicit lyrics.
