Taylor Swift wrote most of this album in Stockholm, flying in between Eras Tour dates to work at MXM and Shellback Studios with Max Martin and Shellback, the team behind Red, 1989, and Reputation. Her label had no idea it existed until it was finished. Released October 3, 2025, it went on to become the fastest-selling album in US history, moving more than four million units in its first week.

The sound is looser and warmer than the last few records. Twelve tracks across forty-one minutes, built on piano, acoustic and pedal steel guitars, banjo, synths, and string arrangements played by Swedish session musicians. "The Fate of Ophelia" and "Opalite" both went to number one on the Hot 100, and "Elizabeth Taylor," the first song written for the album, landed in the top three. "Wood" leans disco, "Honey" leans R&B, and both bring horns. Sabrina Carpenter turns up on the title track. The showgirl framing runs through all of it, with Swift writing about fame, the machinery of performance, and what was happening backstage while the biggest tour ever staged rolled on around her.

The numbers are absurd. Fifteenth number one on the Billboard 200, more than any solo artist in history, with twelve weeks at the top. Its songs took every one of the top twelve singles chart positions in the US, Canada, and Australia. Global best-selling album of 2025.

This Sweat and Vanilla Perfume edition packages the CD with unique collectible disc artwork, an eight-page lyric booklet with previously unseen photos from the Mert and Marcus shoots, and a double-sided folded poster. One of the harder variants to track down once they clear out.
