Static ATX is a shop run by collectors, and a good chunk of what fills our bins comes from people right here in the area who decided it was time to pass their music along. If you have records, CDs, cassettes, or music books you're ready to move, we want to see them. One crate or an entire wall of shelves, it all gets the same look.
What we buy
Any genre, any era. Rock, punk, metal, jazz, soul, funk, country, hip hop, classical, electronic, goth, industrial, and everything in between. We buy LPs, 7 inches, CDs, cassettes, and books about music. Condition is what matters most to us, so copies that play clean with sleeves that have been taken care of will always bring the strongest offers. We'll still look at well loved copies and common titles, we just may pass on some of them.
Cash or store credit
We pay cash, and we pay more in store credit if you'd rather put it back into your own collection. Credit doesn't expire and it works both here in the shop and online at StaticATX.com. We'll tell you both numbers when we make the offer, and there's never any pressure to take either one.
How to sell to us
- A crate or two: bring it by during store hours and we'll go through it with you while you wait.
- A bigger lot: send us a few photos or a list first. That saves you hauling boxes around before we know what we're working with, and it lets us tell you up front whether it's a fit.
- A full collection: reach out and we'll set an appointment so we can take our time with it instead of squeezing it in between customers.
- Large or estate collections: we'll come to you. If it's too much to move, that's our problem to solve, not yours.
How we make an offer
We sort it, grade it, check the pressings, and look at what the titles are actually selling for. Then we explain how we got to the number. We're not in the business of lowballing people, and we'd rather tell you honestly that something isn't worth much than pretend otherwise. If our offer isn't right for you, no hard feelings at all.
