Sister Hazel - ...Somewhere More Familiar

If you turned on a radio in 1997, you heard "All for You." Sister Hazel's breezy, harmony-rich single climbed to number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and turned the Gainesville, Florida band into one of the defining acts of the late-nineties alternative pop boom.

...Somewhere More Familiar, the band's second album, has plenty more where that came from. Jangly acoustic guitars, warm vocal harmonies, and big, sunny choruses run through "Happy," "Just Remember," and "Starfish," while "Superman" and "Concede" show a band with a gift for melody and a reflective streak. It is feel-good roots-pop made by a group that honed its sound on the road.

The album went platinum and remains the band's commercial peak, a snapshot of a moment when heartfelt guitar pop ruled modern rock radio.
