Siouxsie And The Banshees - Downside Up [Box Set]

Siouxsie and the Banshees never treated a B-side as filler. Some of their most adventurous, atmospheric and downright strange recordings were tucked away on the flip side of their singles, and Downside Up gathers that hidden history into one essential collection.

The set spans the band's career across 49 studio recordings, from early post-punk jolts like "Voices (On the Air)" and their raw take on "20th Century Boy" to the hypnotic "Tattoo," the swirling "Obsession II" and late-period treasures like "Black Sun." Taken together it is almost a parallel discography, showing just how restless and inventive Siouxsie, Budgie, Steven Severin and their guitarists were when the pressure of the A-side was off.

For goth and post-punk fans this is the deep end of one of the genre's founding catalogs, and much of it has been hard to track down in any physical form for years.

Available on vinyl for the first time, the collection has been remastered from the original tapes and cut to lacquer by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios. The 5LP box includes a 32-page booklet featuring new imagery drawn from the band's original single sleeves.
