With Bloodless, Samia delivers a hauntingly intimate and thematically ambitious third album, threading vulnerability through layered songwriting and dynamic sonic shifts. Inspired by the unsettling phenomenon of “bovine excision”—the bloodless removal of cattle organs—she uses the imagery as a metaphorical anchor to explore themes of identity, projection, and hollow performance.

Opening with the eerie title track, Samia’s delicate vocals weave through minimal acoustic arrangements before blooming into sweeping, cinematic harmonies. The album unfolds like a carefully crafted patchwork of poetic fragments—Diet Dr. Pepper, Raymond Carver, white underwear, Degas dancers—each symbolic of her internalized, idealized versions of masculinity and divinity, and the self she molded to appease them.

Written and recorded across North Carolina and Minneapolis in 2024, Bloodless reunites Samia with longtime collaborators Caleb Wright and Jake Luppen. The production moves fluidly between spare folk intimacy and soaring indie-pop grandeur, echoing the emotional excavation at the album’s core.
