Queens of the Stone Age return with Perfecth, their ninth album, arriving at a moment of hard-won clarity for Josh Homme and the band. Its nine songs map different kinds of love: for family and friends, the loves that break you, and the ones that bring you back.
The music is fearless and strange, moody and menacing one minute and gentle the next. "Insignificant Other" is the sprawling, supernatural centerpiece, while "Mono" captures the head-spinning feeling of heartbreak with a mix that slides from claustrophobic mono into widescreen orchestral stereo. "Where the Goth Girls At?" and "Run Away from the Mob" bring the swagger, and closers like "Phantom Limb" show how much tenderness sits underneath the menace.
It is a record that snarls and seduces in equal measure, from a band that remains singularly magnetic more than a quarter century in.
Released on Matador, this CD edition is out October 30, 2026. A great way to have the album on hand for the car or the stereo, and an easy pickup for any QOTSA fan.
