Originally released in 2007, Fear Of A Blank Planet is the ninth studio album by Porcupine Tree and the final chapter in the band's acclaimed 2000s trilogy. A 50-minute concept album heavily influenced by Bret Easton Ellis's novel Lunar Park, the record explores themes of adolescent alienation, prescription drug culture, and internet overstimulation. Musically, it is described by Rolling Stone as an "aggressively modern merger" of Pink Floyd’s classicism, Rush’s arena rock, and the heavy, post-grunge intensity of Tool.
This May 2026 Reissue is a Double 140g Clear Vinyl edition in a gatefold sleeve. It features world-class guest contributions, including a landmark guitar solo by Alex Lifeson (Rush) on the 17-minute epic "Anesthetize" and atmospheric soundscapes by Robert Fripp (King Crimson) on "Way Out Of Here." Known for its "wide-screen" production and complex, tumbling drum passages from Gavin Harrison, this record remains one of the most critically acclaimed progressive rock albums of the 21st century.
