Released in 2023, Messy is the debut studio album from British singer-songwriter Olivia Dean and the record that introduced one of the UK's most charming new voices. Rooted in classic soul but shot through with modern pop sensibility, it's a warm, witty, and disarmingly honest collection about love, family, and growing up.
Anchored by singles "Dive," "Danger," and the title track, the album earned a Mercury Prize nomination and widespread critical acclaim, its vintage-leaning arrangements and Dean's expressive vocals drawing comparisons to soul greats past and present. It's the sound of an artist arriving fully formed.
