Miles Davis - Copenhagen Live 1969 [RSD Black Friday 2026]

Miles Davis - Copenhagen Live 1969 (2LP / Black Vinyl)

Copenhagen Live 1969 documents a crucial chapter in Miles Davis' move into his electric period. Recorded in November of that year, it features Miles' so-called "lost quintet" of Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea, Dave Holland and Jack DeJohnette, a band that was never captured in a studio.

The set includes songs from the recently recorded but not yet released Bitches Brew, including "Miles Runs the Voodoo Down," "Sanctuary" and the title track, along with a piece from In A Silent Way and reimagined songs from his earlier periods. It's the sound of jazz being torn up and rebuilt in real time.

Previously available only on video or a highly limited vinyl release, the recording is now presented as a 2LP set on black vinyl in a gatefold featuring mind-bending artwork by Mati Klarwein, whose work adorns Bitches Brew and Live-Evil.
