Metroland - Framed

The ultimate closure of a remarkable artistic chapter. When Belgian vintage synth duo Metroland released their fourth conceptual album Men In A Frame in 2018, they had already spent years weaving an intricate relationship between electronic music and the visual art of photography. Framed is the natural and lovingly conceived final word on that chapter, a 12-track remix album in which Passenger A and Passenger S invited a carefully chosen selection of kindred spirit musicians to do exactly what the title suggests: put Metroland in the frame.

The concept is as elegant as the execution. Each contributor has brought their own distinct sensibility to the source material, transforming the austere, precisely crafted synth pop of Men In A Frame into something simultaneously personal and reverential, a collection of finishing touches that together function as a gallery of perspectives on what makes Metroland so distinctive. The contributor list speaks entirely for itself, representing some of the finest names in European electronic and synth music, with three remixes exclusive to this vinyl edition from Der Dritte Raum, Die Robo Sapiens, and Frohm adding further value for collectors.

This beautifully packaged double LP on yellow vinyl in a gatefold sleeve is limited to just 300 copies worldwide, released to coincide with the second "Pictures To Listen Too" exposition at the Cultuur Centrum of Mechelen in Belgium, running from January 26 to March 24, 2019.
