Masayoshi Takanaka - Super Takanaka Live! [RSD Black Friday 2026]

Masayoshi Takanaka - Super Takanaka Live! (LP / Translucent Vinyl / Japan Import)

Originally released on March 1, 1980, Super Takanaka Live! was Masayoshi Takanaka's first live album, recorded on his nationwide tour in December 1979, just a few years after his solo debut. It captures the electric energy that made the guitarist a star of Japanese jazz fusion.

The arrangements take his studio recordings to new heights, with thrilling improvisation and powerful ensemble playing on classics like "Blue Lagoon," "Explosion" and "Kurofune (Black Ship)." The live "Ready To Fly," with its soaring solos and joyful band interplay, is one of the most celebrated performances of Takanaka's career.

The album laid the foundation for later acclaimed live releases like Ocean Breeze and The Rainbow Goblins Story Live at Budokan, and it remains an essential document of his virtuosity.

This RSD Black Friday 2026 edition is pressed on translucent vinyl and includes an exclusive special poster.
