Lungfish - A.C.R. 1999

A.C.R. 1999 offers a rare glimpse into Lungfish’s creative process at the turn of the millennium. Recorded and mixed by Craig Bowen at Baltimore’s A.C.R. Studios, these 10 songs capture the band during a transitional moment, experimenting and refining ideas that would soon evolve into later releases.

Following the session, Lungfish opted to keep writing rather than issue the recordings as an album. Six of the tracks were subsequently re-recorded at Inner Ear Studios and released on Necrophones, while the remaining four songs were left unheard for over a decade. Finally released in 2012, A.C.R. 1999 stands as an archival snapshot of Lungfish in motion, bridging the gap between eras and offering longtime fans and newcomers alike a deeper understanding of the band’s methodical, exploratory approach to songwriting.
