Lords Of Acid - Lust [CD]

By the time Lust came out in 1991, Lords Of Acid were already notorious. Their 1988 debut single "I Sit On Acid" had become a new beat anthem in Belgian clubs, and the Antwerp trio led by Praga Khan and Jade 4U knew exactly what to do next: make a whole album about sex, delivered over hard, hypnotic acid house and rave beats.

"Take Control," "Rough Sex," and "Let's Get High" set the tone right away, "I Must Increase My Bust" plays the joke for all it is worth, and "The Most Wonderful Girl" crossed over far enough to land on the soundtrack of the film Sliver. "I Sit On Acid" appears in both its original version and a remix, a sign of just how central that track was to the band's rise.

Critics responded well, and the album's explicit, funny, unapologetic approach found an audience both inside and outside the dance music world. It laid the groundwork for everything Lords Of Acid did after.

This Special Remastered Band Edition, released by Metropolis Records in 2017, adds bonus tracks drawn from the B-sides of the album's singles, including a Soulwax remix of "I Sit On Acid."
