Released in 1995, ...And the Circus Leaves Town is the fourth and final studio album from Kyuss, the legendary Palm Desert band that all but invented stoner rock. Recorded as the group was fracturing, it's a heavier, more sprawling farewell — thick with fuzzed-out riffs, hypnotic grooves, and the wide-open desert atmosphere that made the band so influential.
From the punchy "One Inch Man" and "Hurricane" to the epic eleven-minute closer "Spaceship Landing," the album showcases the guitar mastery of Josh Homme (later of Queens of the Stone Age) and John Garcia's commanding vocals. Though it marked the end of the band, its influence on desert and stoner rock only grew in the years that followed.
