Kenny Chesney - Silver Sands Marina

After decades of doing it the industry's way, Kenny Chesney decided to build his own dock. Silver Sands Marina is the first full album from HEY NOW Records, the label he launched to give himself room to color outside the lines, and the freedom shows. Lead single "Carry On" arrived as the rare independent country release to command the format's full attention out of the gate, and it spent the summer soundtracking exactly the kind of long drives Chesney has spent a career writing about.

The album runs 11 tracks and moves easily between the sunburned and the reflective. "Burn My Boat," "Talkin' Dirt," and "Shot A Car Into Space" bring the humor and horizon-chasing, while "Remember Me That Way" and "Shot Glass" sit in quieter, more searching territory. Three guests fit the material rather than decorate it: Lily Meola on "Goldfish," Megan Moroney on "It Just Got Weird," and Colbie Caillat on "What We Got Going On." Longtime collaborator Buddy Cannon co-produced with Chesney, and the writing pulls from Nashville's deep bench, including Matraca Berg, Shane McAnally, Brett James, Tony Lane, Jessie Jo Dillon, Tenille Townes, and Adam Wright.

This is album number 21 from an eight-time Entertainer of the Year and 2025 Country Music Hall of Fame inductee, arriving as he settles into his second residency at Sphere. Few artists have earned this much goodwill and then spent it on a fresh start.
