Jefferson Airplane - Jefferson Airplane Takes Off (60th Anniversary) [RSD Black Friday 2026]

Jefferson Airplane - Jefferson Airplane Takes Off (60th Anniversary) (2LP / Blue Marble Vinyl)

Released in August 1966, Jefferson Airplane Takes Off is often hailed as one of the greatest debut albums by an American band and a crucial chapter in the story of the San Francisco scene. It's the raw sound of a new band full of fire and energy, with no idea what was right around the corner.

The album includes the classics "It's No Secret" and "High Flying Bird," and it marked the beginning of a band that would become one of the most important in rock history.

This 60th anniversary edition presents the expanded version on vinyl for the first time as a 2LP set with nine bonus tracks, including alternate versions and uncensored originals. It includes liner notes and rare photos, pressed on blue marble vinyl exclusively for independent record stores on RSD Black Friday.
