Crawlspace Of The Pantheon is the latest album from Guided By Voices, the astonishingly prolific Dayton, Ohio band led by songwriter Robert Pollard. Decades and a small mountain of records into their career, GBV remain one of indie rock's great lifers, and this set delivers exactly the hooky, fuzz-dusted, endlessly tuneful songcraft the faithful come for.

Across twelve tracks the current lineup of Pollard, guitarist Doug Gillard, bassist Mark Shue and drummer Kevin March move from ringing power-pop to widescreen arena gestures, with Gillard's string and horn arrangements adding unexpected color. Early highlights "We Outlast Them All" and "Advance Without Dropping" ride the classic GBV rush, while "When You're My Clown (Nothing Happens)" shows the band's melodic instincts fully intact.

Produced by Travis Harrison, it is another sturdy entry in a catalog that shows no sign of slowing down.
