Gracie Abrams - The Secret of Us [Yellow]

Gracie Abrams' second studio album, released in June 2024, is the record where the whisper got a backbone. Aaron Dessner returned to produce alongside Abrams, but where Good Riddance stayed muted and interior, The Secret of Us lets the drums hit and the choruses arrive. It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and went on to earn Grammy nominations including Best Pop Vocal Album.

"Risk" opens the campaign with the most immediate hook she has written, all nervous energy and rising melody. "I Love You, I'm Sorry" turned into an unlikely streaming monster and gave the album its emotional center. "Us." pairs her with Taylor Swift for a duet that plays as two writers circling the same wound from different angles. Elsewhere "Blowing Smoke" and "Normal Thing" carry a wit and irritation that her earlier work mostly kept under wraps.

The album turned Abrams from an opener into a headliner, and the songs here are built for rooms that sing back. It is the sound of a writer figuring out that vulnerability and volume are not opposites.
