The third album is famously the make-or-break moment, and Gracie Abrams walks straight into it. Daughter from Hell arrived July 17, 2026, the follow-up to 2024's The Secret of Us, and it finds her trading bedroom-pop whispers for something bigger and stranger. She wrote every song on the record herself and co-produced it with longtime collaborator Aaron Dessner, cutting the sixteen tracks between Electric Lady in New York, Dessner's Long Pond studio in the Hudson Valley, and a stint in London.
The result is her most ambitious set of songs yet. Knives, ghosts, and imaginary friends drift through the lyrics, all delivered in that featherlight voice that makes even her most violent images feel intimate. The synth-pop lead single "Hit the Wall" and the surging "Look at My Life" show off a wider sonic palette, while piano ballads like "The Knife" and "Humming" cut closest to the bone. The guest list runs deep: Bon Iver's Justin Vernon turns up on "Hit the Wall" and "Humming," Paul Mescal co-wrote the spectral "Imaginary Friend," and Audrey Hobert lends a hand on "Minibar."
Early reaction has framed it as the record that earns Abrams her place among pop's sharpest young songwriters, sixteen tracks that sparkle with angst, beauty, and all the baggage that comes with adulthood. Whether she's confronting crisis head-on or finding dark humor in it, she writes with far more well-worn wisdom than her years suggest.
This Indie Exclusive edition presses the full album across two LPs of striking cobalt vinyl, available only through independent record stores. A standout pressing of a landmark moment in her career, and one that won't stay in print forever.
