Gorillaz - The Mountain [Indie Exclusive]

Twenty-five years into the life of the world's most successful cartoon band, Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett went looking for something bigger than another party record. The Mountain, the ninth Gorillaz studio album, was shaped by losses both creators went through and by time spent traveling and recording across India, and it turns grief, death and the afterlife into some of the most moving music they have made.

The guest list is as wide as ever and unusually well chosen. Indian legends Asha Bhosle and Anoushka Shankar sit alongside Sparks, IDLES, Black Thought, Johnny Marr, Omar Souleyman, Trueno and Yasiin Bey, with posthumous appearances from old friends of the band including Bobby Womack, Tony Allen, Dennis Hopper and Mark E. Smith. Singles "The Happy Dictator," "The Manifesto," "The God of Lying" and "Damascus" show the range, from sly synth pop to sprawling, sitar-laced epics.

Released in February 2026 as the first album on the band's own Kong label, The Mountain went to number one in the UK and reached the top ten in the US, and it earned the strongest reviews Gorillaz have had in years.

This indie exclusive edition presents the 15-track album on two yellow bio vinyl LPs, housed in a gatefold sleeve with printed inner sleeves and a 12-inch insert. Original artwork by Jamie Hewlett.
