Crazy Eyes, the seventh full-length album from industrial-alt pioneers Filter, finds frontman Richard Patrick dismantling expectations and rebuilding the band’s sound from the ground up. A deliberate departure from the guitar-heavy wall of sound on their previous release (The Sun Comes Out Tonight), Crazy Eyes leans into a stark, industrial menace that recalls the raw urgency of Filter’s 1995 debut Short Bus—but with a modern, razor-edged intensity.

Produced entirely by Patrick himself, the album pulses with a restless energy. Collaborations with longtime ally Ben Grosse (Title of Record), Michael “Blumpy” Tuller (Nine Inch Nails), and a revitalized lineup of new and former bandmates bring additional weight and texture to the record’s relentless vision. Mixed by Brian Virtue (Jane’s Addiction, Deftones) and mastered by Howie Weinberg (Van Halen, The White Stripes), the sound is sharp, dynamic, and uncompromising.
