For the first time on vinyl, Kanine Records presents a deluxe reissue of Dirty on Purpose’s beloved works: their debut album Hallelujah Sirens (2006) and early EP Sleep Late for a Better Tomorrow (2004).
Remastered and pressed on seaweed-colored double vinyl, this limited edition (250 copies worldwide) comes housed in a gatefold jacket with collage-printed inner sleeves and a double-sided 12” x 24” poster.
Formed in Brooklyn in 2002, Dirty on Purpose stood at the forefront of New York’s early-2000s indie scene. Their shoegaze-inspired sound, blending swirling guitars, dreamy vocals, and driving rhythms, drew comparisons to Yo La Tengo, Sonic Youth, and The Sundays. Pitchfork praised their music as “blurry, constantly in motion.”
This reissue celebrates both the band’s shimmering debut and the EP that put them on the map, offering a complete picture of a group that helped define a moment in indie rock history.
