Dillinger Four - Midwestern Songs of the Americas

Released in 1998, Midwestern Songs of the Americas is the debut album from Minneapolis punk institution Dillinger Four, and an underground classic that helped define the sound of gruff, melodic, politically charged Midwestern punk. Loud, smart, and gloriously ramshackle, it became a cornerstone record for a whole generation of basement-show devotees.

Dual vocalists Erik Funk and Billy Morrisette trade hoarse, shout-along leads over hooky, driving riffs across ragged anthems like "Doublewhiskeycokenoice," "O.K. F.M. D.O.A.," and "Supermodels Don't Drink Colt .45." The band's signature blend of righteous sarcasm and beer-soaked catharsis is fully formed here, wrapped in absurd song titles and real bite.
