Die Krupps - Will Nicht - Muss! / On Collision Course [Petrol Green]

Forty-five years in, Die Krupps are still building machines that hit hard. The Düsseldorf band helped invent EBM in the early 1980s and then welded it to metal guitars a decade later, and Will Nicht - Muss! / On Collision Course is the sound of that history pointed forward. It began as a hand-numbered CD sold only on their 2025 European tour, and demand was strong enough to bring it to vinyl.

The two title tracks are the main event: "Will Nicht - Muss!" is a stomping, German-language statement of intent, and "On Collision Course" pairs Jürgen Engler's bark with the band's trademark steel-on-steel percussion and riffing. The rest of the EP opens the doors to friends. Cesar Soto and John Bechdel of Ministry, who toured North America with Die Krupps in 2025, each contribute a mix, Mark Thwaite reworks "Schattenzeit," and Engler and Chris Lietz deliver their own "Wahre Arbeit" remix.

With founders Engler and Ralf Dörper now joined by drummer Paul Keller and guitarist Dylan Smith, formerly of The Sisters of Mercy, the EP doubles as a first taste of the band's next studio album.

This limited edition 12-inch is pressed on petrol green vinyl and housed in a gatefold jacket.
