Crushed is the duo of Bre Morell and Shaun Durkan, crafting expansive, emotionally-charged dream pop rooted in trip-hop, Britpop, and ’90s alt-radio textures. No Scope, their debut full-length, follows the acclaimed Extra Life EP and marks a leap forward—deeper, sharper, and more immediate. Written remotely between LA and Portland, then shaped alongside co-producer Jorge Elbrecht (Weyes Blood, Japanese Breakfast), the album embraces maximalism: collage-like beatwork, layered guitars and synths, and dynamic hooks.

The title No Scope—a reference to a close-range sniper shot made without precision—mirrors their instinctive approach: direct, high-stakes, and deeply personal. Breakbeats, ambient textures, and big beat energy meet with soaring vocals and haze-wrapped verses, balancing chaos and clarity. Morell’s commanding presence shines throughout, while Durkan’s shadowy harmonies and soft-spoken lines offer depth and contrast.

Tracks like “meghan,” “celadon,” and “oneshot” trace emotional turmoil and self-preservation with dancefloor propulsion. “heartcontainer” and “licorice” slow the pace, giving space to reflect on love, loss, and survival. The result is a vivid, genre-blurring journey—equal parts catharsis and collapse.
