Conan Gray - Wishbone

After the neon maximalism of Found Heaven, Conan Gray pulled the whole thing back down to earth. Wishbone, released in August 2025, is his fourth album and his most exposed — twelve songs built largely around piano, acoustic guitar and a voice with nowhere to hide.

Working with Dan Nigro, the collaborator who has been there since the Sunset Season days, Gray leans into the storytelling. "Vodka Cranberry" and "This Song" arrived as the lead singles and set the tone: specific, conversational, faintly bruised. "Caramel" is one of the warmest things he has written, "Connell" and "Romeo" play with literary and romantic archetypes without collapsing into cliche, and the closing "Care" lands the record on a note of quiet exhaustion rather than a big finish. Sessions at Sound City, Amusement Studios and MXM keep the arrangements roomy and unfussy.

It is the album of someone who has stopped performing vulnerability and started simply writing from it. For longtime listeners it plays like a return to the intimacy of the early EPs, only with a decade of craft behind it.

This is the Republic Records LP in the standard jacket, with a printed inner sleeve and a foldout poster. A quieter, sharper turn from one of pop's most consistent songwriters.
